In 2013, Jenna and Aaron met at an open mic in Simi Valley. They soon began writing songs together and before they knew it they had a show booked! Jenna decided to reach out to Choco after learning that he played banjo and the three of them played the first show as The Other Words in Santa Monica. Soon after, Steve was asked to join the band as the bassist. During this time they would practice in living rooms with Jenna playing kick drum on their suitcase with a tambourine in hand. It was time to add a drummer! Dave joined the group and they were almost complete. Choco, Steve, and Sam (as longtime friends and musicians) made it an easy choice to add Sam as our final member. The band writes and rehearses weekly in their North Hollywood studio.
Since the formation of The Other Words, they've made significant movement in the music industry. From performing on the top of Mount Baldy to the coast of Santa Monica, up into Ventura County, or in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.. This band brings the authenticity that music in Southern California desperately needs.
